Q and A with Oscar nominated Australian director

This week the State Cinema is screening four exclusive sessions of David Bradbury’s On Borrowed Time, with the opportunity for the audience to join David tonight for a Q and A.

Bradbury is a twice Oscar nominted film maker whose first film was 1981's Front Line, a portrait of Tasmanian-born news cameraman Neil Davis in Vietnam. The film received an Academy Award nomination and also won first prize at the Sydney and Melbourne Film Festivals.

Bradbury's latest film is an affectionate look at the life and work of venerated Australian director Paul Cox. Arguably one of the most important filmmakers to come out of this country, and certainly one of the most prolific, director Paul Cox (Man of Flowers 1983, Lonely Hearts 1981, My First Wife 1984, Innocence 2000) occupies a unique place in the Australian film landscape.
 
Featuring a who's who of Australian film and intellectual life of the past 30 years - including David Stratton, Phillip Adams, Chris Haywood and Gosia Dobrowski - Bradbury's tribute to the great director delves into Cox's outlook on filmmaking and life, particularly in the wake of his remarkable recent brush with cancer.

The opening screening on Thursday, 17 November at 8.30pm will be followed by a Q and A with the filmmaker.
