Q and A with ABC TV Documentaries Commissioning Editor

Screen Tasmania invites you to join Chris Thorburn, Commissioning Editor of Contemporary Documentary at ABC TV Documentaries, for a one hour Q and A on Friday, 11 November.

This will be a very informal get-together where Chris will outline what the ABC is looking for by way of contemporary factual programming, what past programs have worked and also what hasn’t. Following the presentation, there will be the opportunity to ask Chris questions about contemporary documentary making.

ABC TV Documentaries commissions its documentaries from Australia’s highly competitive independent documentary industry. They seek a broad slate of quality documentaries which will tell strong stories, which are well researched, which are well made, and which will entertain and inform the audience. They can be single subject series or one off specials.
