AFTRS Writing For Television Course

The Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS) is presenting an exciting course for those wishing to learn more about writing for the small screen.

With Screen Tasmania providing dedicated development and investment funding for television projects this year, this course could not come at a better time.

Screen Tasmania has made the development and production of series and format television a key part of its strategic direction and the recently released Program Outlines 2011 - 2012 includes the Television Development Fund and the Factual Entertainment Fund.

This AFTRS course is a great opportunity for those wanting a rapid introduction to the world of writing for series television. In this fast-paced and challenging environment, it is a great idea to be prepared. It will introduce emerging writers and script editors to the plotting room, how to interact with the writers and producers and gain an understanding of how all the elements come together to produce a long running series.
Over two days participants will be taken through the many facets and requirements of writing in a medium that requires team work, strict deadlines and an understanding of the many production aspects needed to make an on-going series.

Knowledge of cops or nurses not required.
